Maestro SP applies Sound Performance to temporary events through the planning, specification, implementation, management and evaluation of the sound experience.
The experience of each event
It is the application of the Sound Performance discipline in temporary environments. Within Maestro SP’s institutional framework, Sound Performance is the scientific discipline that underpins the relationship between sound conditions, human activities and experience.
Each event has its own objectives, a specific audience, a defined environment, operational dynamics and particular sound conditions. Its sound experience must be planned for that context, considering the needs of each area and each moment of the program.
Specialized consultancy
The methodology responsible for implementing and managing a Sound Performance Specification (SPS).
Sound Operation is a specialized Sound Performance consultancy service applied to temporary events, in which an SPS is implemented and managed for a specific event, considering atmosphere, comfort, operation, conversability, intelligibility, length of stay and perceived value.
Its object is to implement and manage the SPS: establish the conditions for its execution, monitor its application, coordinate decisions, address deviations and record changes and results throughout the event.
Methodological architecture
The SPP is the strategic document belonging to the client. The SPS derives from the SPP and specifies the event. The SOI translates the SPS into executable procedures for the teams responsible for technical execution.
The sequence expresses methodological dependency: instructions are prepared before the corresponding activities, and evaluation guides future applications.
From intention to evaluation
Understanding the event’s objectives, environment, audience and intended experience guides the development of an SPS specific to that occasion, derived from the client’s SPP. In the absence of an SPP, the strategic stage is formalized with the client before the SPS is derived.
During the event, Sound Operation manages the application of the SPS, coordinating the teams, resources, procedures and decisions required to deliver the planned sound experience. SOIs guide technical execution, with monitoring of the specified conditions and recording of adjustments.
After the event, results are compared against the objectives and criteria established in the SPS. Recording what was met, deviations and limitations generates learning, recommendations and improvements for future applications.
Means of implementation
Technical and operational resources are selected according to the SPS and vary with the event’s needs. They are means of implementing the planned sound experience; none of them defines Sound Operation.
Sound reinforcement may be provided by Maestro SP, by the client, through the venue’s existing infrastructure or by a third-party company. The consultative nature of Sound Operation is preserved regardless of this source.
